Five9 Integration
Our integration with the contact center Five9 is now live in production. The integration primarily focuses on allowing agents to pick up and respond to inbound text messages, but can support outbound while agents are on calls.
Quick Overview
Agents can pick up incoming text messages and begin conversations using the native chat or our Conversation panel v1.5.
Conversation history is available to review in our panel.
MMS is available within the Textel conversation panel.
We can only support outbound SMS when an agent is active in a call with a user.
This is currently a limitation within Five9. We will research their SDKs to determine if there is a method for us to build something to work around this and enable more intuitive outbound SMS messaging from agents to users.
While our Genesys integration has technically been "live" for a little while, today we actually deployed the code to our production servers so that existing and any new clients will be running out of our production environment.
Here is a quick recap of our Genesys integration capabilities.
We have three apps available, all of which can be enabled individually and have different functions and use cases. We also have a more native integration with their bulk dialer campaigns.
Textel - Outbound SMS Message
An agent initiated outbound text message to one or more manually entered mobile numbers.
Does not currently support sending MMS.
USE CASE NOTE: It is similar to a “Blast” (on a much smaller scale) in that you can send an outbound message or notification without the expectation of a response.
Textel - Start SMS Chat
Agents can initiate an interaction/conversation with a single mobile phone number.
Only supports sending MMS if the Textel conversation panel is used.
USE CASE NOTE: This is likely most useful when you need to initiate the conversation and expect a dialogue back and forth.
Textel - Communicate SMS
This app is driven by a Textel iFrame and operates outside of Genesys's native interactions.
It allows agents to initiate a conversation with a mobile number as well as view conversation histories.
Supports MMS.
Textel Bulk SMS Send Using Genesys Dialer
Within Genesys we also have integrated with their campaigns functionality, allowing our clients to use the bulk dialer functionality within Genesys to deliver bulk text messages. Similar in concept to our Blast platform, this integration enables clients to upload lists of phone numbers and messages and deliver them in bulk to their own customers. Because you import the message as part of the CSV file, clients have the ability to customize each individual message that gets delivered as part of the bulk delivery if they so choose. At this moment, this integration does not currently support MMS messages, but we will be enabling that within the next week or two.
