Link Shortener | Full Release
With this release, we are now unlocking the new link shortener on all client accounts as a baked in feature of our platform.Â
WHAT THIS MEANS
All clients on our v2 platform will have the ability to create short links from Conversations and Blast UI and use them as they please.
Detailed link click tracking will be available in a newly released Link Detail Report that's in our new Link Analytics report category. (A Link Click Summary report is coming soon as well.)
Because this is a full-featured link shortener, shortened links do not have to just be used in text messaging, they can be used in other channels as well (email, forms, websites, etc.) and clicks will be tracked just the same.
This is great way for clients who use Blast or Conversations to track a measurement of interaction, which is important because SMS does not allow for read receipts or other methods of tracking.
A public API endpoint for generating short links is coming in the next few weeks.
HOW THEY ACCESS
Support documentation is forthcoming, but in the meantime, here is how clients can interact and generate their shortened links. Also read our previous release notes on this feature.
Within Conversations, Responders, and Blast, there is now a link icon that exists that when clicked, opens a small modal that allows you to select from existing short links OR go to a form to create a new one.
We provide clients with the ability to provide a name for their shortened links for easy reference and understanding of their purpose.
Once the link is generated, you can easily copy it and put it in the message you are composing (or elsewhere as noted above).
We are also surfacing a Link Management page that can be found under the account menu in the top right of the platform.
This page will list out any of the shortened links that have been created in your account.
You can create new links from this page as well.
Users can only edit the name of a link after it is created, but they do have the ability to disable a link. Disabling a shortened link means we will stop doing the redirect, effectively breaking the link.
Text Bot in Textel Updates
We have made two small updates to our integration with Capacity to allow us to have Guided Conversations power text conversations within the Textel platform.
Updated how we handle line breaks and button text display to make it clearer to the mobile user what prompt to use.
Updated our initiate chat endpoint with Nice CXone so that the agent Id is an optional field, allowing us to seamlessly transfer to the live agent queue.
Capacity Conversation Inbox Integration Support
We released a new platform API endpoint so that the Capacity interface can Create/Save Users in the Textel backend. This is needed to support functions like assigning roles and line access from within the Capacity UI.
Group Messaging Enhancements for Genesys CCaaS
We made some cosmetic updates to how Reply-All Group Messaging works in Genesys CCaaS. This will provide some clarity on who sent what message in the Genesys chat when it is a group message.
